Corrections and takedowns

Email contact@cohort.report. Point us at the page and the number, and if you can, the source you think it should match.

We aim to investigate within 5 business days and publish a correction with a changelog entry. We correct in public rather than quietly — a site whose whole claim is accuracy doesn’t get to edit its mistakes out of history.

Email contact@cohort.report from an address at your institution and tell us what you want changed, contextualized, or removed.

We comply with verified takedown requests within 7 business days.

To be explicit about the part that usually goes unsaid: we will remove data on request from the school directly, even when our extraction exactly matches your published source. We won’t argue that we’re technically correct as a reason to keep something up. If you’d rather we add context than remove a figure, we’ll do that instead — tell us which you prefer.

We’d also rather hear from you than not. If a chart on this site misrepresents your program in a way we haven’t anticipated, that’s a defect on our end, and we want to know.

We only publish figures a school has already made public, and every number on the site links back to that source with a page reference and the date we extracted it. We don’t scrape, estimate, or infer values, and we don’t publish anything about individual students. The full account is on the methodology page.
